Brew to Brew History
At the conclusion of the Blue Spring 24 Hour run, March 7, 1994, Race Director Lou Joline proposed a local point to point adventure relay like the River Run in Illinois. The popular Free State Brewery in Lawrence KS, about 50 miles away from downtown Kansas City, was the logical destination. There have been fun runs to Lawrence but on very busy roads. After countless hours of trial and error the Brew to Brew course was established along the North side of the Kansas River. Initially 45 miles, then 42.5 and currently 43.5. The Lou Joline Spirit Award has been named for Lou Joline the Race Director of Brew to Brew for 20 years.
